With the following tips, you have a chance to avoid your system failure and keep your computer optimized.
First, clean up your start programs. If your computer starts slow, there are probably too many programs in your start up list. Your computer is trying to load all the programs in the list during start up. These programs take up resources and slow your computer down when you start them.
You may want to go to the list and delete some of them so that they don’t load during starting up. Most of the program is not needed to be loaded when you start your computer. After you remove the files, there are gaps left on your hard drive. The new files are stored in however many gaps it needs to fit its size. Therefore, the originally complete file is fragmented. It required more time for your computer to track the little pieces of the files and put them together. It is like that you put your stuff wherever you like in your house. Over time, it is difficult to find them.
Defragmentation puts the related pieces of your files close to each other. Therefore, the computer can find them quickly. It decreases the time of the reading head for going through everywhere of the hard drive and extend its durability. Defragmentation usually takes several hours. It depends on the amount of information and the size of your hard drive. Anyway, it needs to be done regularly so your computer will remain in high performance.
